Overview

An open-architecture DSP, the Bose ControlSpace ESP-1240AD engineered sound processor is designed for a wide variety of applications — from small, self-contained projects to large, networked systems. It features integrated Dante™ audio networking, 12x4 analog audio I/O, a Bose AmpLink output, and a front-panel RJ-45 Ethernet connection for localized configuration and monitoring. Engineered for precise performance, the ControlSpace ESP-1240AD offers advanced digital signal processing with 48 kHz/24-bit audio conversion, low-latency, and ultra-low noise operation.

Onboard connectivity includes front and rear-panel Ethernet ports, RS-232 serial, five control inputs, five control outputs, and an 8-channel Bose AmpLink port for sending digital audio to Bose amplifiers. The ESP-1240AD also supports integration with industry-standard control systems, such as Crestron and AMX, and can be used with any of the compatible Bose Professional end-user control options such as the ControlCenter zone controllers and mobile-ready ControlSpace Remote.

Configure and control the ESP-1240AD using Bose ControlSpace Designer software, where a large set of signal processing modules, such as automatic mic mixers, multiband graphic and parametric EQs, Bose loudspeaker libraries, signal generators, routers, mixers, AGCs, duckers, gates, compressors, source selectors, and delays offer an elevated level of functionality for general installed audio applications. Program end-user controls and automation events visually with less complication and more predicable operation on-site. With ControlSpace Designer software, an entire audio system with multiple components can be configured, monitored, and tuned live for creating custom-designed audio and control solutions that save design time and offers outstanding flexibility to better meet client needs.

What are the key features of the Bose ControlSpace engineered sound processors?

Bose Professional ESP-880A, ESP-1240A, ESP-880AD and ESP-1240AD engineered sound processors leverage over a decade of Bose research and engineering to bring expansive, yet cost-effective audio processing solutions that serve a number of installed professional audio applications. These 1RU processors feature high-quality digital conversion, powerful open-architecture signal processing using Bose ControlSpace Designer software, Bose Amplink digital connectivity, and flexible 32x32 Dante™ network audio on the AD models.

What are ControlSpace engineered sound processors?

Bose ControlSpace engineered sound processors serve as the backbone to installed sound systems, offering high-quality analog/digital audio processing, network connectivity, and seamless integration with elegant end-user controls. Applications include concert halls, auditoriums, educational institutions, places of worship, retail, and hospitality locations. ControlSpace engineered sound processors feature open-architecture DSP and are programmed using ControlSpace Designer software. With Designer software, a full suite of signal processing modules can be applied, including automatic mic mixing, multiband graphic and parametric EQs, Bose loudspeaker EQ libraries, signal generators, routers, mixers, AGCs, duckers, gates, compressors, source selectors and delays.

How does the ESP-1240AD differ from the ESP-1240A model?

The ESP-1240AD model includes all of the features of the ESP-1240A model but adds two additional features. The ESP-1240AD includes integrated Dante™ audio networking, supporting 32 input and 32 output channels. Additionally, the ESP-1240AD has a front-panel RJ-45 Ethernet connection for convenient configuration and service monitoring.

How many audio channels can the ControlSpace ESP-1240A processor manage?

The ESP-1240A provides 12x4 analog audio channels, 32x32 Dante, and 8 AmpLink outputs.

How many GPIO ports are available?

The processor has 5 general-purpose input 5 general-purpose outputs, capable of sensing input from switches and potentiometers, and driving low voltage digital output for external devices.

Is it possible to monitor and control the ControlSpace system outside the installation facility?
