Connecting – Associating Devices

Associating Devices – If a project has been programmed starting with a blank file rather than starting with a Scan of the system, the IP addresses and hardware configurations of the virtual devices in the file may not match the IP addresses and hardware configurations of the physical devices. All IP addresses and hardware configurations must match before you can load the file to the devices.

IP addresses for physical devices are changed using the Hardware Manager.
IP addresses for virtual devices are changed using the Project Network Properties and the Properties of each virtual device.
For devices with configurable cards, the card configuration can be changed using the Properties of the virtual device.

Once these settings are correct, selecting Go Online, and then Send to Devices will upload the programming to the devices. After uploading the programming, the ControlSpace® Designer background will be blue to indicate that you are currently online and controlling the devices. If you need to make changes to the programming, click the Go Online button again to disconnect and then the programming can be edited.
